STYLE —

A full bodied yet balanced wine of immense drinkability.

VITICULTURE —

The fruit for this wine was sourced off our winery vineyard. Soil profile is brown to red loam over limestone. Yield was 3 tonnes/acre.

VINIFICATION —

Ripening conditions were very favourable over the February to March period, producing a wine with distinctive varietal character and expressive berry flavours. The grapes were harvested in early April. Fermented in static red fermenters on skins through to dryness and then basket pressed – the basket pressing helps to soften tannins and builds the structure of the mid palate. Matured in a selection of American oak hogsheads. 14.5% alc/vol

TASTING NOTES —

Made from 100% Watervale Cabernet Sauvignon. Mulberry/cassis and herbaceous aromas are highlighted on the nose. Juicy berry flavours stimulate the palate supported by a background of fine tannins and subtle oak. This round and very approachable style is a result of basket pressing, finishing with an alluring length of flavour. Cellaring potential of 5 – 6 years.
