STYLE —

A medium to full bodied wine of immense drinkability.

VITICULTURE —

The fruit for this wine was sourced off our winery vineyard. Soil profile is brown to red loam over limestone. Yield was 2 tonnes/acre.

VINIFICATION —

Despite frost and drought conditions preceding the 2008 vintage, our Cabernet Sauvignon produced a wine of distinctive varietal character and expressive berry flavours. The grapes were harvested in early March. Fermented in static red fermenters on skins through to dryness and then basket pressed – the basket pressing helps to soften the tannins and build the structure of the mid palate. Matured in a selection of aged American oak hogsheads. 14.0% alc/vol

TASTING NOTES —

Uplifted mulberry, cassis and herbaceous aromas are evident on the nose. Plump berry flavours give structure to the mid palate supported by fine tannins and subtle oak. This round and very approachable style is a result of basket pressing, finishing with good length of flavour. Cellaring potential of 6-7 years.
