STYLE—
Produced as a classic dry style.

VITICULTURE —
The fruit was sourced from two premium Watervale grapegrowers – one vineyard is on the north side of the Watervale township and the other on the south side. Both vineyards are on red/brown loam over limestone and the yield was three tonnes/acre.

VINIFICATION—
Cool weather during January followed by a hot spell in February produced fruit with upfront citrus flavours and good overall structure. The grapes were harvested in mid March. Only the free run juice is used for the Tim Gramp Riesling. Fermentation was over three weeks and after cold stabilising/filtering the wine was bottled in July. Alcohol 12% v/v

TASTING NOTES —
Sourced from 100% Watervale Riesling fruit. A classic dry style of Riesling with seductive lime, lemon and floral aromas. The zesty citrus components follow through onto the palate, balanced with crisp acidity and good length of flavour. Patience of time in the cellar of  8-10 years will see this Riesling mellow and reward the consumer with a wine of enticing complexity.

FOOTNOTE —
The 2004 Riesling is sealed with a stelvin closure. Apart from avoiding any cork taint, it reflects the high quality of Riesling produced in the Clare Valley, allowing the best examples to be aged gracefully and with confidence.

AWARDS & REVIEWS —

4 Bronze medals

Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald, 9/10/04
“…….also a ripper, again showing some upfront characteristics but with fresh garden salad and lemon juice aromas, intense, dry, tangy and focused in the mouth. It would keep well.”

5 Stars*****

Matthew Jukes, Daily Mail UK March 2006
“………..Australia is home to vintners such as Tim Gramp, whose Riesling is made an hour-and-a half north of Adelaide in the idyllic Clare Valley.  It is a sensational wine full of dry lime-juice scents – buy it, drink it and love it.”
